Neon Axis is a four-piece alternative rock band from Jacksonville, Florida — forged in the underground and built for the stage. With a sound that lives somewhere between shoegaze atmospherics and hard-driving indie rock, they've carved out a loyal following across the Southeast over the past five years.
Their 2023 debut LP Voltage Kids drew comparisons to early Interpol and mid-era Editors, earning coverage from several regional outlets and landing them a coveted slot at Riverside Music Festival. Their live show is known for its intensity — cinematic lighting, walls of reverb, and a frontman who never stops moving.
Currently working on their sophomore record with producer Lou Gaines (Third Man Records), Neon Axis is booking select support and headlining slots through Spring 2026.

A letter to the first hundred subscribers.
I grew up in this scene as a percussionist, and most weeks I find out about a great Jacksonville show two days after it happened, from a friend who actually went. That's been true for fifteen years. It's not the bands' fault. It's not the venues' fault. There just isn't a single place where someone tells you — clearly, weekly, with an opinion — what's worth your Friday night.
So I'm going to be that single place. Every Thursday morning. Five shows. One paragraph each. No algorithm guessing at your taste, no calendar dump, no twelve emails a week. Just the list I'd give a friend who texted me asking what to do this weekend.
If a show's on the list, I'd actually go. If it's not, I had a reason.
Some of the bands are friends. Some of the venues are friends. I'll tell you when that's the case. It will never be the reason something makes the list.
The newsletter is free and will stay free. It's the consumer side of a platform I'm building called mediaplustech, which is trying to help Florida's independent venues stay open by routing real local fans to local original shows. You're the first version of "real local fans." When the platform launches with city-and-genre opt-in for show alerts, you're already opted in.

How often will you email me?
Once a week. Thursday morning. That's it — no Tuesday roundup, no "bonus thread," no Black Friday sale. One email a week, or you should unsubscribe.
What if I don't live in Jacksonville?
You'll get less out of this. Sign up anyway if you visit Jax for shows. Tampa, Miami, Orlando, Gainesville, and St. Pete are on the roadmap — you'll be first to know.
Is this a band promo thing?
No. Bands don't pay to be in it. Venues don't pay to be in it. Nobody pays to be in it. It's curation, not advertising. If a friend's band makes the list, the show is worth your weekend on its own merits — and I'll say so.
What does it cost?
Free. Always will be. The newsletter is mediaplustech's way of building a Jacksonville fan community before the platform launches — eventual revenue comes from venues paying for fan reach, not from you.
